Giuseppe Di Iorio was born in Chieti on 16th June 1944,where he lives; he is married with two children.
In 1982 he displayed his works made of reeds at the international exhibition or artistic craftmanship in Florence.In the following years he exhibited in similar initiatives: the "Mostra dell'artigianato artistico regionale di L'Aquila, la Tevere expò in Rome, the "Fiera Levante" in Bari, the "Mostra dell'artigianato artistico" in the area of Vasto, the "Mostra dell'artigianato artistico Abruzzese and Molisano" in Sulmona, the Mostra dell'artigianato artistico "l'Oro d'Abruzzo" in Pescara and, for ten years, the "Mostra dell'artigianato artistico della Maiella" in Guardiagrele.
Since 1990 he has taken part in various shows and artistic function regarding the "presepe" organized in the region, such as "Riscopriamo il presepe" in Lanciano, "Arte e presepi" in Penne and events in: Sulmona, Orsogna, Pescara and on exhibition in piazza G.B. Vico, entitled "Christmas 2000" organized by the Chieti City Council.For Christmas 2001 displayed his work in Zurich at "Missione Cattolica Italiana" from 1st-8th december, in Assisi at "Palazzo Comunale" from 24 December 2001 to 6th January 2002.
For Christmas 2002 at the Arena in Verona for 19th International exhibition of the presepe. In 2003 in Rome for the 28th edition of the "Mostra of 100 presepi", in Lubiana of the International exhibition sponsored by UNESCO and in Milan at the "Fondazione Metropolitana", Then in 2003 he took part "Scuola aperta" at the secondary school "Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale" in Chieti, with a show of artistic presepi.
Christmas 2004: Marsiglia e Aix-en-Provence dal 8 al 17 dicembre 2004; Roma "30° Edizione dei 100 Presepi"; Verona "21° Edizione Internazionale del Presepe"; Greccio (Rieti).
Christmas 2005: Fiera di Roma (Eur), Colle di Val d'Elsa (SI), Massa Martana (PG), Laterina (AR), Greccio (RI).
Christmas 2006: Greccio(RI), one-man show at "Museo Mondial del presepe" from 10th December 2006 to 6th January 2007; Marseilles "Musée des Civilisation de l'Europe et la Méditerranée" from 13th December 2006 to 26th February 2007; Rome Fair"Natale Oggi"; Rome,"32th Edition of mostra dei 100 presepi".
He has taken part in the competition "Concorso del presepe", organized by the religions association Caritas Diocesana and ENAL in Chieti, for the past twenty years and has always been amough the top winners. His "presepi",which are dispayed every year in the church of San Domenico in the main street in Chieti, have become, since 1989, an important element in the cultural life of the city.
